A:  Hello Zeke, thank you for your question. The Maestro LED+ Dimmer in question, model MACL-153MH, is able to be used in single pole or 3-way applications. In a 3-way application, it may either use a traditional existing 3-way switch, or a Maestro Companion Dimmer model MA-R. In order for it to work in a 4 or more-way application, you do need the companion dimmers, which are MA-R. This can be programmed in the switch to be turned on or off if you would like to change that!
