A: Hello! When using the MACL-153M in a 4-way application, you must use one MACL-153M and two or more companion dimmers (model MA-R). For more information, please refer to our support site here: https://www.lutron.com/en-US/pages/SupportCenter/support.aspx?modelNumber=MACL-153M

A: Hello Zeke, thank you for your question. The Maestro LED+ Dimmer in question, model MACL-153MH, is able to be used in single pole or 3-way applications. In a 3-way application, it may either use a traditional existing 3-way switch, or a Maestro Companion Dimmer model MA-R. See the below spec sheet for more information on these installations:

A: Hello, thank you for your inquiry. MACL-153MH-LA is capable of being used in a 4-way application. In order for it to work in a 4 or more-way application, you do need the companion dimmers, which are MA-R. If you click on the following link, it will provide the 4-way wiring diagram:https://webapiaw1proddat01st01.blob.core.windows.net/assets/documents/368-4493_Page_15.pdf

A: Hello Ernie, thank you for your question. Currently, there's no industry standard or regulation for manufacturing LEDs, which is why performance varies with dimming controls. That's why we extensively test a variety of LEDs from many different manufacturers and offer a mobile-friendly web tool to help you select bulbs or fixtures that provide the best dimming performance with your Lutron dimmers. To access the tool, please visit lutron.com/ledfinder.
For the Maestro LED+ dimmer, it may be used with either LED bulbs or integrated permanently installed fixtures, provided they are specced and compatible with the dimmer, so we recommend always ensuring that your LEDs are tested and approved by Lutron.
We hope this helps! If you have additional questions, please reach out to our 24/7 Support Team at support@lutron.com or give us a call at 1-844-LUTRON1.

Q:This dimmer switch gives my LED Foxlux recessed lights a really good range of brightness but when the lights are dimmed and then turned off, the dinner switch has to be turned up quite a bit before the lights will come back on. What causes this?

A: "We're sorry to hear about your experience with MACL-153M. The dimming range for LEDs varies from bulb to bulb depending on the bulb's design. That's why we engineered our LED+ (formerly called C·L) dimmers with a low-end adjustment, which allows you to adjust the dimming range of your LED bulb. For easy step-by-step instructions for adjusting the dimming range, please see step 7 in the following guide: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/Replacing_a_dimmer_with_a_dimmer.pdf
We also suggest making sure we've tested and approved your dimmable LED. Lutron offers a mobile-friendly web tool to help you select bulbs that work best with Lutron dimmers. To use the tool, please visit lutron.com/ledfinder.

A: Hello! Yes, the indicator lights will have a slight glow when the device is in the "Off" state to act as a locator light or nightlight. This can be programmed in the switch to be turned on or off if you would like to change that! The programming guide for this device can be found here: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/048459.pdf
