A:  Hello, thank you for your question. We currently do not offer a countdown timer that will function with a DC fan motor; all of our countdown timers are only capable of operating an AC motor fan. A:  This will work for fans which have the very lowest power consumption, other fan timers which lack a neutral wire won?t work for the same use.

A:  This model with a neutral wire is recommended for Panasonic DC fans. I found a thread on the Lutron website where someone was having an issue with the other model countdown timer WITHOUT a neutral wire and the Lutron representative referenced this model.

A:  The MA-T51 and the MA-T51H-WH, are the same exact model number. The letter "H" in the model number is nothing more than a packaging code, and the letters "WH" stand for the color white. Just purchase the cheaper version, as they are the same unit.

A:  Snow, as far as I know, is the only White color they have. Snow is white unless it's Yellow Snow.

A:  Yes, the MA-T51 is available in a gloss white finish as opposed to the satin finish of "snow."

A:  Lutron does not recommend using this device to control a fireplace. The Maestro devices are designed for lighting loads only. Lutron suggests contacting the fireplace manufacturer for a recommendation of devices to use.

A:  The MA-T51 has a minimum load of 0.3A. If the fan it is controlling does not meet that minimum load, it may not turn the fan on consistently. Instead, if you have neutrals (bundle of white wires) located in the wallbox, Lutron would recommend using the MA-T51MN. This neutral-based timer has a minimum load of 0.05A.
