Q:can you use this to glue in corner shelves in a shower "on tile" and will it last? Thank you

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question. Epoxies like the Loctite Instant Mix 1 Minute Epoxy are not recommended in applications where the bonds will be exposed to continuous water immersion or continuously wet areas. Unfortunately, it is not possible to know what results you may have or how long it can last, given this is a shower environment, if you choose to use it. The success will depend on the composition of the shelves, how well the tiled wall surface is prepared, how much bonding surface is available, and how much stress or vertical load the shelf will be subject to. We recommend you consult the corner shelf manufacture's installation instructions and recommendation before starting your project.

Q:how long does it take for the vapors to dissipate inside my house? I applied it to a garden state inside my house before I put it in the garage to harden

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for the question. The Loctite® Instant Mix 1 Minute Epoxy product is a reactive chemistry and contains epoxy resin, polymercaptan and amine curing agents. Full cure time is approximately 24 hours. These products should be used with adequate ventilation during application and curing times as indicated by the warning statements on the product packaging. Any lingering vapors will dissipate with time by providing plenty of fresh air ventilation until product is fully cured. Time frames can range from 1 hour to 24 hours or more depending upon temperature and humidity conditions, where the product was used, and the volume of product used.

Q:Can I buy extra mixing nozzles? If where at? Most epoxy jobs do not require half of the contents...
by|Dec 31, 2019

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for the question. Extra mixing nozzles are not available for sales. The Loctite Instant Mix 1 Minute Epoxy comes with two mixing nozzles. Each one is good for one-time use. Keep in mind that just because the static mixers have been used does not mean the remaining epoxy is not usable. One only needs to dispense equal amounts of the resin and harder on to scrap cardboard or into a small paper cup and mix by hand.
