A: Yes you can. I've replaced mine a couple of times and they last a good 2 years.
A: To: 'steve' dated Dec 05 Re:{ ...Can I change the Photo Cel ?} Sir: ...Certainly! ....there are a variety of Replacement Cells on the peg board near outside Light Fixtures at most HomeDepot Stores, in fact - - -their stock number of (1) Is: Model# EZ-341A. HOWEVER, please recall that doing that might NOT fix your issue and yet, you would have already gone "UP 'n DOWN" the ladder a few times ( can't be changed up there!) Consider just buying a new, identical Fixture, instead, using the old Globe & Bulb for spare parts....eli2
A: It could be due to the temperature drop now that it is getting colder at night. CF's do NOT like the extreme cold.
A: Am answering my own question. I figured out that the bulb was very slowly dying. I've never had a bulb go bad that slowly, they usually just go out. I replaced the bulb and the light it good as new.
A: I have no idea. Maybe you aren't getting enough current or the bulb is bad.
A: that's strange. have had mine for 3 years and it's good, have you tried replacing the bulb ?
A: Has to be wired to electric. Not a battery operated or solar light.
A: Wired with electricity.
A: It is not battery powered
A: To: 'Cakes' dated Oct 05th - Re:{....what electrical connection is needed?} Good Morning! - - - NOT Quite like that. This entire Fixture must be located at / near an electrical source {120v Normal House Current}. The required Lag Bolts to secure this to a wall for typical wood construction are already included for your convenience. Seen in that PIX on the computer will be found the self-contained junction box with three (3) small wires inside - one each of green, white & black. These must be appropriately connected to the House Wiring [ by an electrician or someone who knows] - - THEN, this Fixture will work automatically each day between dusk until dawn.....eli2
A: The light needed to be installed with wire and connected to breaker. It works great!
A: NO, sorry
A: To: 'Nette' dated July 06 - Re"{...is there a Button to turn the light on manually?} Ms. 'Nette' - - -nope ...simply that photo eye, which detects the onset of evening or darkness. A entirely separate switch -[ for all manual operation] - is very easy, leaving that photo-eye covered....eli2
A: no , sorry.. you must wire it
A: (Any 'off' & 'on' switch?} Sorry, other than the Photo Eye, no! ....but, that's a very easy item to include separately as One does the original "Install." ....eli2
A: NO SWITCH. IT JUST PHOTOELECTRIC SWITCH TO COME ON AT NIGHT ONLY
A: No, it is a light fixture, not a lamp
A: Yes, that’s true, I had to use regular light bulb for it to work
A: To: 'Liz' dated June 26 - Re:{ Regular Bulb o.k. BUT, legitimate CFL stays dark?} There's an internal, electrical component { called 'ballast' } which may have been dealt-with poorly whenever you did your experimenting w/ standard incandescent bulb. NOT economical to conduct trial 'n error process, in my experiences. Time to buy another entire Fixture, keeping your existing Unit for a spare lens, etc......eli2
A: To: 'Nan' dated June 11 - Re:{May I re-bulb with a Hi Pressure Sodium?} Absolutely NOT .... you will need to buy another complete Fixture intended for that type BULB.....this is a CFL Fixture which is entirely different internally.....eli2
A: I doubt it very much. HPS takes a different ballast and started than a fluorescent.
A: No the sodium bulb is not interchangable with the florescent bulb. I had that same question when buying mine because I have both. I had to read between the lines a bit and the install instructions tell you however you have to read them more carefully the statement is not high profile. The florescent bulb is much whiter and brighter than the sodium bulb.
A: To: 'NAN' dated June 11 - Re:{Hi-pressure Sodium Fixture @ 70 watts?} A POSTSCRIP, please? "IF" you need / want a H.P.S. light, this is One (1) available thru HomeDepot.com as well as some stores....zero dust-to-dawn feature!!! Otherwise, the 65 watt CFL Bulbs are also available for the other, original Fixture. Model # OFL 70S 120 LP BZ M4 Internet #100626324 Store SKU #600017...eli2
A: To: 'Boomer' dated May 31st - Re:{Replacement CFL Bulb for Outdoor Lite?} Here are the identifying numbers: Model # CF65QT41 M6 Internet #202192981 Store SKU #996282 Usually kept in-store-stock, under $13......eli2
A: What is the bulb NO# Wattage ect. If I knew what kind of a bulb it is I maybe could help. Is it a screw in, push in. ect. need more info.
A: it's a standard screw-socket. You don't need to use a florescent bulb. Buy a green bulb that bright enough. Will not be as efficient.
A: Didn’t see a green bulb at my Home Depot
A: The light sensor may be broken/disfunctional. The light sensors generally fail long before the bulbs. I know of no way to test it or fix it other than by replacing the whole thing.
A: It should not be on during the daytime. Only when it first starts getting dark at night. Unless it is located in a shady area. Somethin is probably wrong with the sensor. Or maybe that can be adjusted.
A: Yes ,always, check first the connection and second check if you installed the lamp in a place where the lamp sensor read light or dark or the lamp maybe have problem ...good luck
A: The eye sensor is bad, is better just to buy a new light, then try to replace the sensor, I think I paid $35.00 for the light.
A: A PostScript to 'Lynn' - dated April 3 - Re:{ Light will not turn-off?} SORRY = the wrong REPLY got tagged to your Question!... There are replacement ambient sensors available - - -BUT, "IF" you are not "D.I.Y." qualified, there's a chance of ISSUES!!! Best to consider buying another entire FIXTURE, saving the current one for spare Bulb, lens, etc., etc......eli2
How can we help?
