Q:Will this light fit into an opening that is exactly 4 inches?
by|Oct 13, 2013
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi JoeM, you need a hole that is 4 & 1/8 inches. You're so close, try sanding around the hole to increase the size just enough to have the light fit.
The hole should be round. If it's square you can enlarge, however you should fill in the area where there is space around the light.

Q:Can this light be installled in a T&G ceiling, even though the wood is combustable?

Answer This Question
A: Yes it can. UL states that contact points for installation at the front rim and where clips connect, as well, is permissible. The only hindrance may be the ceiling thickness. The clips are designed for standard 5/8” thick sheet rock as a maximum.
Thank you!

Q:I have blown in insulation in my ceiling. If I clear it away at least 3 in. from the housing, can I install the light even though it is non-ic?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, but the insulation does need to be moved (especially off the top of the cans since most of the heat dissipates from the top). You may need to check from time to time to make sure it hasn’t shifted around and deposited on the unit.
Thank you!
