      Answer This Question

A:  Thanks for shopping with Spreetail. I'd be more than happy to answer your question. Yes it is water resistant.

      by|Feb 2, 2023

A:  It will be right but do not put the feed directly in the box as the cover can open with wind. Also if in country bears and other animals may try to get into it ! We put a brick on top but we do not have animal feed in the box!

        by|Jul 23, 2023

A:  Don’t use it for that purpose but I would think it’s waterproof and wel built to keep that food dry.

          by|Feb 4, 2023

A:  Yes, with an asterisk. If there's water on the lid when you lift it up, some of that water dribbles inside. But if you wipe off the lid before opening it, that should work OK, because otherwise everything inside has stayed dry.

            by|Feb 4, 2023

A:  Lifetime deck boxes are water resistant, but not waterproof. If the contents you choose to store inside need to remain completely dry, we recommend also placing them in a plastic bag just to be safe.

A:  We do not have a deck box in white this size. The only one we make in white is the 60348 Marine Dock Box (130 Gallon).

                  Answer This Question

A:  The product is well made but the internal dimensions (about 23"H x 23" W x 35"L) are too small to most lawn chairs.

                  by|Aug 4, 2021

A:  That is what I use it for. I have six chairs in it.

                    by|Feb 23, 2023

A:  Possibly, it depends on the size of your chairs. The Interior Dimensions are 3 ft. L x 1 ft. 9.5 in. W x 1 ft. 11.8 in. H.

Q:I have another resin box on my patio, and it is filled with nasty spiders. How will this one do at keeping them out?

A:  You can try mixing some peppermint oil with water and spraying it inside the box. It smells good and they don’t like it.

A:  While not much in this world is critter “proof”, our products stand up well to their environment. The walls of our boxes are about an inch thick and constructed with High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). It would take a pretty persistent critter to make its way through. In addition, your product has a 10-year warranty so if issues arise just give us a call and customer service will take care of it. Spiders are a whole other issue, they can be sneaky. The deck box is not completely sealed so there is a chance they could wiggle through. Something you could try is a solution of vinegar and coconut oil. Gently warm solid coconut oil to liquefy, add an equal amount of cider vinegar and mix thoroughly. Pour into a spray bottle. Spray outdoor patio storage boxes, sheds and garages. The vinegar scent is a bit strong for a few days, but the sprayed area should be free of spiders.

A:  No. Not unless you caulk it all around.

A:  The base of this unit is about an inch high. If your standing water is higher it will penetrate the box. If that is the case consider raising the box by placing it above the standing water level expected. Maybe use four cinder blocks?

A:  It's possible. The bottom is not sealed so water could leak inside. If you want items inside to stay completely dry you will want to also place them in a plastic bag.

A:  Yes, water would seep in as the bottom is not completely sealed. I would not recommend putting the box in standing water at all. If you are going to have standing water, I would recommend putting it on concrete blocks or something similar to keep it of the ground.

A:  This thing goes together pretty tight and doesn’t seem to have any real holes in it but it’s not truly sealed so I would say water would probably seep into the box unless you got some clear silicone on all of the seams and then it might stay dry no matter what.

A:  Consider using bed risers. You can get a 4-pack at Home Depot for about $12. It's the perfect inexpensive fix for your problem.
