Q:I need a pump to pull water from a lake and deliver it about 100 ft. COST is a concern. Which transfer pump would you recommend?

Answer This Question

A:  This is a good pump, however you need to not only look at how far you are pumping the water, but how much you are lifting, and what volume of water you need to deliver. I am using this pump to life the water about 6 feet and it works well. However it will not lift about 24 feet according to the manufacturer.

A:  Yes, you should be able to screw on an adapter to fit pipe. I would personally recommend using PVC as you can fell the resistance in threads so you do not damage the threaded outlet.

A:  I believe that you can. Home Depot sells a fountain kit that has various different fountain heads. I have used that on smaller pumps. If it doesn't immediately fit the larger pump then I am sure that if you bring the attachments to the plumbing department an associate can help you fit the pieces together. Have fun!!
