A:  Hello, this brass is not clear coated and yes it can tarnish or oxidize over time (especially if exposed to the elements) or if not properly maintained. We recommend you polishing it once installed and wiping it down as needed. Now this may only need to happen every few months depending on the traffic it receives. I hope this helps.

A:  Lido design did not answer my question. I ask if the 8' listing is one solid piece. I did not ask if I could order a splice. The listing says it is one 8' section. Install instructions states 8' and longer contain a splice. I want 8' NO SPLICES.

A:  A 10ft length would have to ship truck shipment which is not an option on Home Depot. You can get two smaller kits and splice them together to make a 10ft kit.
