Q:I have Cox Communications for internet only connected to a CGM4331COM. Can I use this between the MPOE and the modem which is located further into the home? I'm not certain if the fact that it's amplified is an issue.

A:  At this point in time, Optimum Cable seemingly uses a DOCSIS 3.1 modem, which the Leviton splitter will passthrough signals to/from without issue.

    Q:I have Xfinity. Will this work if I wanted the line from outside to go to the input, and then have my cable modem and four cable boxes as outputs? Or would a different configuration be suggested?

      A:  Hi , Thank you for choosing Leviton. The 47693-8P will work with Xfinity. But we recommend using a 1x2 way splitter from the demark (outside cable) to the to the modem and the 47693-8P. The only thing is that the 47693-8P will not work with a whole home DVR system. If you have a whole home DVR system, then use the 47693-8C2 or 47693-6C2 (1x8 or 1x6 passive splitter).

        Q:I have a communication box mounted in the wall that contains all my phone and cable lines from each room and an electrical outlet. Can this unit be used for the cable input line from outside and the output for the cable lines from each room. I have Spectrum/Time Warner TV and internet

        A:  Hi, Thank you for choosing Leviton,While this unit can be used to provide the output to a cable modem, the return path is not amplified and subject to the standard loss of a 1x8 splitter (approx. 11 dB of loss on the return path). A better solution to ensure the Cable Service Provider has a successful connection with your modem is to use a 1x2 splitter (usually provided by the service provider). Connect the cable modem to one output and the Leviton 1x8 Premium Splitter to the other output. Use the Leviton splitter to feed your set-top box locations.
