A: Bought two an assemble them by myself in a little less than two hours. Functions perfectly for a smaller space. Finish was a little thin, so I bought a gallon of Spar Varnish and finished it up right.

A: I'm gonna give you a guess, can't go for accuracy. This is made of cedar, mine is oak, I have also seen it out of edwood. Since cedar is a more porous wood than either of the other two, your gonna have lighter overall weight. So, guesstimate 75 - 85 lbs. Remember that is the unit alone, not including packing/protective material.
Just wondering though. Do you realize you can buy a kit that comes with all he hardware and detailed instructions? The country where you intend to ship them, do they have anything like a lumber yard or mill? Because, it is only a matter of buying 2'x4' or 6'x10', whichever the pattern calls for, one cut for length...lithe rest is textbook. Like I said, I'm not sure where, to whom you are sending this set, but they are gonna love you for it.
I've had mine for awhile. It is kept on the front porch. It is undercover but still susceptible to the elements and shows no sign of breaking down. We have had up to 6 people sitting on the benches at one time. Total overall weight was over 800 lbs, but that was sitting still. 4 grown adults, 2 husbands who have been well taken care of and the two trophy wives to match. Space/area it was comfortably for 8 dinner plates and 6 sets of elbows, and still the family style food service. We have really enjoyed our unit and should something happen to demolish it (both I & hurricanes are part of Florida). Hope this info helps you. Thanks, JBGood97

Q:Someone said the weight capacity is 700 pounds but it also says it holds 2 to 3 people. Does 2 people really mean that you can only put one person per side or are they saying the bench only holds 2 to 3 people?

A: Being a compact picnic table, it’s not nearly as sturdy as a full size. You trade strength for lightweight and efficiency. I think you could fit 4 average size adults, but it would be cozy. And from the picture you can see 1 side is more reinforced than the other. My wife and I and our 2 small children fit nicely. If you’re looking to regularly entertain with adults and you have plenty of space, this may not be your best choice. If space is an issue, or you need some auxiliary seating, I think this is a fine option. We’ve had ours about a year and have used it several times and have been pleased.

A: The bench holds 2 or 3 people. The table will hold 2 on each side.

A: Well that is what they say on the box. When set up as a park bench, yes you can sit 700lbs split by 2-3 people. But opened up as a picnic table I would hesitate putting more than two people on each side weighing more than 120-150lbs tops each. That's sitting quietly eating, playing cards. If you have kids or teens, being up and down bouncy movement I would not put more than 150lbs on each side however you split it up. But remember, a few added 2 X 6/8ft boards for stronger support would be worth it. The lumber used for the original construction was 2 x 4's and just are not strong enough. If it is only used occasionally its great, but if it is intended to be your summer center piece....nahbaby. You would be better off using it as a blueprint to build one for adults and leave this one for the kiddies.

Q:How comfortable is it as a bench?

Answer This Question
A: Very. The seats are wide enough to support your entire rump. The distance from table to bench, is comfortably far enough away as not to cause you to hunch over to reach the table, nor do you have to strain backwards to sit upright.
by|Nov 7, 2018
A: Depends on your seat. One side is fair, the other side is very narrow and much of a buttoocks will hang off the back

A: Wooden bench for 2 people. Add a cushion
