Q:I need to know the diameter of the bottom of the bucket. I see the same bucket on other sites which states that it is 10 1/4" at the bottom. Yours states that it is larger (which is what I need). I doubt the same brand 3.5 gal buckets are made with different base diameters. So, I want to ensure the buckets are wide enough at the bottom for me before I buy them.

Q:So what lids do fit these? They came without lids and I don’t see any that match that can be ordered separately.

A: That was the problem I had as well. I knew they came with no lids but I also assumed that HD would sell lids in the store that actually fit the buckets but they don't or at least my store didn't. I did buy 1 lid in the store to try it out but it did not fit it. To be fair, I didn't ask anyone in the paint dept about it so maybe they do have them but have to be special ordered. But that seems like too much trouble to me.

Q:Will the same lids for the 5 gallon cans fit this bucket too? I am wanting to use it like I use the 5 gallon one as a "porta potty" with the snap on toilet seat that fits 5 gallon cans.

A: NO. Neither the 'standard' Home Depot lid nor the screw on lid fit. I'm here at the site trying to figure out whether these buckets have lids specifically made for them. The bucket opening is TOO BIG to take a standard lid.....VERY disappointed.

A: Any food you would put in a plastic jar you can put in a plastic bucket. You must be supporting an awful lot of people to want to store 3 and 1/2 gallons of elbow macaroni!!
