A: It does a pretty good job in addition with a furnace, since it would be super expensive on its own and prone to blowing breakers. I was using it to heat my bedroom (12ft x 24ft) on really cold nights and it did a nice job. So nice, my dogs huddled around it. Recently, I let my parental units borrow it for really cold days to help keep their pipes from freezing in their two car garage (almost double in size of my room). Mom says it did a good job when it got below 10 degrees a few nights ago and kept their garage fairly warm. I love it.
A: Had for a year it works well.
A: This unit heats surprisingly well for the size. We actually only use the low setting ! It warms up a large bedroom in only a few minutes ! Very happy we chose this.
A: It provides sufficient heat for an average-sized room of 150 sq ft or so.
A: Not that well, more of a gimmick with the "fireplace" feature. I'd try something else
A: Great question! This fan has an internal fan that blows out the hot air.
A: The fan blows the hot air.
A: Yes, the unit has a fan.
A: It blows hot air and it seriously warms up a room within minutes. It is amazing.
A: Has 2 speed fan plus on/off for the fireplace effect. Doesn't radiate without fan. Does a good job heating though.
A: When unit is powered on, heat and fan are activated. User has option for low or high fan
A: Yes, it blows hot air through the front vent.
A: Yes it blows hot air, it doesn’t function without the blower on.
A: The blower operates at Low or High speeds - the flame is just decorative - you can use the heat with or without the flame. We love this small “fireplace” !
A: it radiates
A: Yes
A: Yes it does!!...tested on the carpeted floor in one of my b/r's. And it's not hot when it tips over. Excellent choice!!...I give myself 5 Stars!
A: I'd just like to point out that the previous answers contradict one another. I would contact Lasko with your question, giving them the model number. Don't trust random people. That is all.
A: No, this does not have an auto shut-off or tip over shut-off.
A: Yessir, it has both. However, it is nearly impossible to turn over. We got it as a gift for my younger brother who has a very rambunctious and large dog,and it has not been turned over yet. LOL.. It has a wide stance and has rubber feet on it. We have been very pleased with this product's performance.
A: no auto shut-off, but does have tip over shut-off.
A: You have to hit the start button...Smart Choice!!!
A: No....it has to be manually restarted
A: No it does not
A: You will have to press the power on button again
A: No it will not restart if the power is cut.
A: It heats up 300 feet quite nicely, I have not used it in a larger space. This is for supplemental heating only not for primary heat.
A: I used it to heat my master bedroom, which is about 288sq ft, and it gets my room warm, fast. My parents recently used it to keep their two car garage (approximately 576sq ft) warm since their water pipes were put in the garage, so on the nights it's 25 or below. It does a good job in both rooms, one just takes longer to warm up.
A: I have it in a 10' × 20' room in the basement and it keeps it comfortable
A: Im burning up a 400 s/f area on low!
A: The specifications says it heats up to 300 sqft
A: Not sure but it keeps a 200sq ft. Room comfortable only heat source on low
A: 900
A: This unit will heat up to 300 square feet.
A: No...Mo...Complaints!!!
A: No it keeps the downstairs toasty while the bedroom still stays comfortable
A: That's a negative. Just the buttons, vent, and window for the "fire" setting.
A: No it does not.
A: No it has a high and low setting
A: No
A: No, it does not. Just on/off, high/low controls.
A: It all depends on how long you run it and what setting you use. If you run it on high, using 1500W, for 24 hours, that's just under $5 a day. Which would be around $115 (give or take) for a 30-day month. That's assuming the CEC's rate of 10 cents an hour. I wanna say the low setting is closer to 1000W ish. And if that's the case, it's a little over $3 a day, or $90-ish, a month. I just cannot remember what Watts the low setting is at.... To get the values, you take the wattage times the hours used, all divided by 105 (the conversion of Watt hours to Kilowatt hours, times the CEC rate), which gives you the cost to run per day. Then multiplying by the days in the month will give you the estimated monthly charge. But if you don't want to do the math, there is this site that does a decent job estimating costs (even breaks them up for you), you just need the wattage of the device: http://energyusecalculator.com/electricity_spaceheater.htm
A: Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot, Aimee. Your monthly costs to run this heater will depend on many variables. How long you run it, what settings you run it on, the costs of electricity in your area, as well as other factors. So we cannot answer question accurately. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.
