Q:If you fill the water to the low line to steam crabs, how many or how much room is above so you can steam the crabs without being in the water? 1 bushel?

A: Thank you for choosing LoCo. If you want to steam in our 90QT Boiling Cart you will need to be very diligent maintaining the water level while in use, as this is designed for boiling. The water level must be at least two inches deep at all times so the pot does not boil dry causing damage to the unit. You could fill the bottom of the basket with crabs about two layers. The main concern again would be that you continue to add water as it is boiled off.

A: Hi Timothy, you can do a smaller boil but our cart boiler does have a max and minimum line for the water. We do not advise to put water below the minimum line so that the water does not dry up the pot.

A: Yes! You can definitely place the Crawfish in the unit and flush them with cold water and use the drain to remove rinse water prior to filling for actually cooking.
