Q:What kind of socket do i need to plug in this dryer?
by|Jul 23, 2017
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The type of socket that the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.3 cu.ft. Ultra Large Capacity High Efficiency Front Control SteamDryer™ with SteamFresh™, Model # DLEY1701W has to be plugged into will depend on what your building codes and local regulations are. This unit has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60 Hertz, single-phase circuit fused at 30 amperes. All wiring and grounding must conform to the latest edition of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 and all applicable local regulations. You can use a UL-listed 30 A, 240V, 4-wire #10, AWG-minimum copper conductor power cord through a strain relief or a UL-listed 30 A, 240V, 3-wire #10, AWG-minimum copper conductor power cord through a strain relief. A 3-wire connection is NOT permitted on new construction after January 1, 1996 or where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral conductor. For that, you will need a 4-wire connection. The NEMA Configuration for the socket for a 4-wire connection is 14-30R and for the 3-wire connection it is 10-30R. Please check your local building codes or consult your local building inspector for advise on which connection is permitted in your home and you can contact a qualified electrician to check your home’s wiring and fuses to ensure that your home has adequate electrical power to operate the dryer...^IFV

Answer This Question
A: Yes it will, that was one of the main reasons we bought it. Use the bulky setting and it adjusts to the extra size. It even spins out most of the water so drying takes much less time.
