        Answer This Question

A:  Use only 4-inch (10.2 cm) rigid, semi-rigid, or flexible metal duct work inside the dryer cabinet and for venting outside. Failure to follow these instructions can result in fire or death. The exhaust duct must be 4 inches (10.2 cm) in diameter with no obstructions. The exhaust duct should be kept as short as possible. Make sure to clean any old ducts before installing your new dryer. The total length of flexible metal duct shall not exceed 8 ft (2.4m). A:  Regrettably, the length for the longer hose that is supplied with the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.4 cu. ft. Electric Dryer with Steam in Black Stainless Steel, Model # DLEX4370K is not listed in the product's specifications. However, it should be the same length as a standard water inlet hose making it about 5-6 feet long. Please contact our Support Center at (800) 243-0000 for verification. The hoses are reinforced rubber hoses...^IFV

                  Answer This Question

A:  Hi Kayte. The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.4 cu.ft. Ultra Large Capacity TurboSteam™ Electric Dryer, Model # DLEX4370K has been tested for 1 inch (2.5 cm) clearance on the sides and rear. The recommended clearances are given to accommodate for ease of installation and servicing or if additional clearances are needed for wall, door and floor moldings, to reduce noise transference, and for ductwork. If you side vent the dryer, you don't require any clearance spacing in rear since there is no ductwork in the rear to take into consideration. An inch or two will be fine...^IFV

Q:Will LG electric laundry dryers operate on 208 volt power? We are in a condo building with 120 volt and 208 volt power instead of 120 volt and 240 volt power. Our current dryer is rated to accept 240/208 volts. The LG labels identify only 240 volts. Will the dryers operate (possibly with a longer drying cycle) on 208 volts?

                          Answer This Question

A:  Regrettably, we do not have access to the nameplate for this ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.4 cu.ft. Ultra Large Capacity TurboSteam™ Electric Dryer, Model # DLEX4370K to determine if it can be run other than as instructed in the owner's manual and you will need to consult a qualified electrician for your situation. If the device’s nameplate states that it can run at 208v (in addition to say 220v or 240v), you are fine. Sometimes the nameplate will state 208-240v as acceptable voltage ranges. Most modern devices can support this, but you must check the nameplate. Assuming that you have a 120/208V 3-phase system, it will run but will not get as hot and the drying time will be longer as the element will be producing less heat due to the lower voltage. An appliance can work safely within +/- 10% their voltage rating so a 240 volts appliance can work at 216 volts or 208 volts 13.33% lower than its voltage rating...^IFV
