Q:Does this refrigerator have two compressors?
    by|Sep 16, 2014

    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The 30.3 cu.ft. French Door-in-Door Refrigerator, Model # LMX30995ST uses a singular linear compressor. What many consumers fail to realize is that the compressor mechanism of a fridge is the most important part of a refrigerator’s functioning, as it accounts for some 80% of the fridge’s energy consumption. If one compressor accounts for that much energy consumption, imagine how much your bills would be with 2 compressors! Linear Compressor Technology minimizes energy and has higher power saving results that help to reduce electrical bills while offering the full benefits of the finest refrigeration. LG’s Linear Compressor technology reduces energy consumption by streamlining mechanical operations to circulate refrigerant without unnecessary rotating or reciprocating motions. The refrigerant gases used in LG Linear Compressor fridges are known as R600A gases, which are more eco-friendly than the traditional R134A refrigerants used in conventional fridges. Compared with an average refrigerator, which emits around 336KG of CO2 per year, LG’s Linear Compressor provides energy savings of up to 20% annually. The reduction in CO2 emissions and increased energy savings amounts to the equivalent of planting 24 pine trees. This eco-friendly and energy saving design is what makes LG Linear Compressor fridges an A+ Energy Class rated product. Fewer friction points (one instead of four, as in conventional compressors) work to significantly reduce noise levels while also enhancing durability. This enhanced durability also allows LG to offer a 10 year warranty on all refrigerators featuring the Linear Compressor Technology. On average, LG refrigerators are more effective in maintaining a constant inner temperature than conventional models with the same large capacity, thus helping to keep food fresher for longer...IFV

A:  Hello Pepper, Regrettably, none of the high end Refrigerators like the 30.3 cu. ft. 4-Door French Door-in-Door Refrigerators come in a black finish. They all have a Stainless Steel finish. There is however, a Super-Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator with Smart Cooling Plus technology, Model # LFX31925SB in black that you might be interested in looking at that has a black finish!...IFV

        Answer This Question

A:  It is recommended that, when the unit is first installed, the freezer temperature should be set to 0 degrees Fahrenheit, while the refrigerator should be set to 37 degrees. Once the unit reaches these temperatures, you may change the setting to however you would prefer.

A:  I can answer this from a scientific perspective, as I am a molecular biologist. You should set the fridge at 40F (4C) and the freezer at -1F (-18C). These are the correct temperatures for the purposes of storage with and without freezing.

          by|May 3, 2023

A:  Hello Connie. In the owner's manual for LG's 30.3 cu. ft. French Door-in-Door Refrigerator, Model # LMX30995ST, LG advises the owner of what ambient temperatures the unit can or cannot be operated in, but as for what the settings within will be is something that will be dependent on various factors for which LG cannot anticipate since those will vary from individual to individual. The first would be the ambient temperature. The efficiency of cooling is affected by this and especially when the door is opened allowing warm air into the refrigerator. How long the door stays open also may determine how long the compressor runs and how long it will take to cool the interior to the desired temperature. How much food you have in the refrigerator, the types of food you have in there all affect your temperature settings. Starting from the middle and adjusting your temperature accordingly is probably the best way to go about setting your temperatures to your desired settings...IFV

Q:Is this particular refrigerator considered counter-depth? Or cabinet-depth?

              1 Answer
              Answer This Question

A:  Hi Joey, The LG 30.3 cu. ft. French Door-in-Door Refrigerator Model # LMX30995ST is not a counter-depth refrigerator. Typically, cabinet-depth refrigerators have a depth of about 25" although some may be a little deeper, but they are intended to fit flush with the cabinet so definitely will need to confirm the depth. The LMX30995ST is not considered a cabinet-depth refrigerator either. It is considered a Standard or Traditional Refrigerator...IFV

                Answer This Question

A:  The displayed temperature is the TARGET TEMPERATURE, and not the actual temperature of the refrigerator. The actual refrigerator temperature depends on the food inside the refrigerator.

                by|May 1, 2014

A:  You can set the temp of both the fridge and the freezer from the outside. There is a digital display that tells you what the temp is set at. I can only assume it is accurate, but I guess you would have to put a thermometer in there to double check.
