A:  The exterior side of the deadbolt would not be compatible with a doorknob on the interior side.

A:  This model is compatible with a door thickness of 1 3/8" - 2 1/4". Please call our Support Team at 1-800-327-5625 to order a service kit for 2-1/4" (57 mm) thick doors.

A:  Yes, any lock featuring SmartKey Security can be re-keyed at the consumer level with the SmartKey Learn Tool and by following the SmartKey Re-Key instructions. The SmartKey cylinder is compatible with a 5 pin (K1 and K5) and 6 pin (K10) keyways. If your key matches these keyways, you can use it on the SmartKey cylinder.

A:  SmartKey Security is an added feature that allows only someone with the current working key to re-key the lock cylinder to a different key. Inserting the SmartKey learn tool and using a random key will not re-key the lock nor unlock the door. In addition, SmartKey technology protects against advanced break-in techniques, like picking and bumping. A:  This model fits a backset diameter of 2 1/8”, door thickness of 1 3/8” – 2 ¼”, and the latch fits a backset of either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" which would be the same dimensions as a Weiser deadbolt.
