A:  You can test the wire once it is terminated, it will check every pair of wires and let you know if it passes or fails and also if you have cross wires when you terminated. Hope that helps!

A:  the cable identifier does not check the wire. the wire checker is the bottom part of the actual unit. there is a different kit that has munltiple wire checkers that are numbered so that might be the kit for you since it does do both

A:  Coax test: The ID plug also serves to test the cable, although it will throw the length measurement off a bit (covered in the manual). Network test: The ID Plugs (small, 2-19) are ID test ONLY. To verify the cable, you must also use the #1 remote that is attached to the Pro2-LT (bottom part). There is another kit: VDV501-824 Scout® Pro 2 Tester with Test-n-Map Remote Kit that contains only 8 larger remotes that will ID and fully test in the same operation.

A:  The self-storing test-n-map remote (#1) tests, maps and IDs a cable run in a single step.

A:  The Scout Pro 2 is not designed to work through splitters. Different splitters divide the tone sent down the wire into different values and the resistance expected by the tester is not received back.
