A: Probably, you would need to rejet with correct size orifice. Go to manufacturer web site and see if they offer a kit or can specify correct size orifice.

A: Yes it has open flame but in a smaller circle, 6-8 imches. While it would work, not very practical. Same propane as on gas grill, no taste issues.
