A: Thanks for the response that it would fit (which it did). But the screw placement holes of this model's bracket (3") were too narrow for my old one (3.25").

A: I bought this model (900-CUDR-V) anyway and tried using it with my original KN-COPE-D (CP9000) bracket (still screwed to the wall), and it fit perfectly. A tad tight (as you said) but easily removable for battery change nevertheless.

A: Hello. It is not designed to be, no. We have made it work in practice by pushing this new alarm firmly against the bracket and turning but it is not easy. Best is to replace the bracket but changing the bracket takes a screwdriver and a ladder. The placement of the screws will be the same.

Q:I smoke cigarettes, will it trigger the alarm?
by|Nov 10, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Hello. It depends. If there is enough smoke to fill up the ceiling with smoke down to the level of the alarm and smoke pours into the back side edges of the alarm and fills up the smoke chamber, it could. If you smoke, you will want to clean out the alarms every 6 months or more often to get debris from smoking out of the alarm. Usually vacuuming out the alarm around the back side edges very thoroughly with the hose attachment of a vacuum cleaner or blowing out the alarm with a can of compressed air like keyboard cleaner around the back side edges very thoroughly should flush out any debris.
