The handle skirt can be unscrewed counter clockwise, to access the valve parts within. Q:Can this be used on the 2004 purist line of bathroom faucet. I don't know the model number.

A: Hello Bill, this is Lisa with Kohler Co. I am happy to answer your question. This part can be used in a Purist two-handle faucet of ours from 2004, as long as the parts haven't been changed / updated to a newer version. Here is a link to a parts diagram that shows both versions of the cartridges - http://tinyurl.com/2s3cjnv8. You will want to verify which one you have by checking the shape of the mounting nut for the valve body, below the counter. K-40005 is a hex nut and the original version that would use the referenced cartridge. K-1131484 is an oblong nut with two screws on either side that would use K-GP1092203 and K-GP1092204.
