Answer This Question

A:  The whole left side rotates CCW which raises the bar. It has a different bracket from the other side. It sits away from the wall about an 1/8 inch for clearance. I thought I had messed up the install until I realized it had to be that way.

A:  The screw on the back of the swival arm bracket is too tight. My first repair I had done at the Home Depot Tool Rental. They placed it in a vise and used a power drill with #2 screw bit to loosen it slightly. Made all the difference in the world. I did the same to the other two I was installing.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The best visual we have available is found under MORE INFO on the product page. If you open the installation instruction document, you can refer to the parts breakdown where you can see the wall-mount brackets (also called wall plates) are physically different. The wall bracket for the left-hand side (part number is 1150975) is designed to swivel, so the entire left-hand side (including the arm that holds the tissue) will rotate to a 12 o’clock position to allow you to slide the previous roll off and change the paper. Perhaps the two wall brackets were mixed up, and the stationary wall bracket (part number 1145789) that is supposed to be to the right was installed on the left-hand side, making it physically impossible to rotate and lift the arm.

Q:I'm returning to the store and want a home depot rep to confirm this will pivot. Disappointed with Kohlers faulty design.

A:  Yes. Rotates CCW from 3:00 to a little beyond 12:00, maybe 11:00. Make sure you didn't reverse the mounting hardware. Not sure if that is possible, but it is the only thing I can think to check. Hope this helps.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Sorry to hear that you are having issues with this product. Are you certain you have this Mistos Toilet Paper Holder? The arm should simply lift up so you can replace the roll. Again, if there is an issue with this product, our apologies.

A:  This is a design flaw. The pivot arm is attached by a long screw/bolt which has to be loosened. But there is no stop, so it will come loose fairly quickly. Take it back, it's a faulty product.

A:  It does not pivot. You just lift the handle and put the roll on it then place it down again.

Q:How do I separate the brackets from the bar in order to mount them to the wall? The installation guide doesn't explain.

A:  I see that is an old question, but others may have it. I didn't see how to take the short end bracket out to get started for mounting. There is a small Allen screw holding it (hole on the side).

A:  If you loosen the set screws, the brackets will slide out of the ends.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The toilet paper holder is attached to a plate which attaches to the wall with a set screw. The brackets and bar do not need to be seperated.

Q:Perhaps the post is supposed to rotate, as HD told me over the phone but it CAN'T without scratching the wall. Is there somewhere such as You Tube to watch a demo of installation and usage of this good looking but ridiculous design?

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The post should rotate without scratching the wall. This Mistos Toilet Paper Holder has a special bracket on the left side. This bracket allows the left cover, and arm, to rotate from a 3 o’clock position to a 12 o’clock position. There is not a latch for the arm, it simply rests on the right cover.

A:  The left side does set about 1/8 inch to 1/16 inch from the wall for clearance. Looks a little goofy til you get used to it. Thought I had installed it wrong untiI I realized it had to be that way.

A:  Greetings Raj, My name is Tom, also known as HD116 at Home Depot's How to Community. I am here today answering a few product questions and saw yours. The model R-37054-BN has an awesome look, and chenging the paper is easy but is difficult to figure out. You have to simply lift up on the arm! Please know that this has been a bit of a challenge to quite a few people who have been used to the traditional way of changing the rolls as this one does not depress. Further it is engineered very well and the fact that it lifts up is not obvious. Thank you for your question and I was happy to have helped.
