Leaving hair color or things like coffee grounds in the sink for a period of time may cause stains. Rinsing hair color away immediately should not be a concern for staining. A:  We purchased this sink for our kitchen remodel, however, the weight of the sink was too heavy for under-mounting it on the quartz countertops. So, we had to exchange it for a stainless steel sink. The cast-iron sink was a really nice sink and we were disappointed that we could not use it. As far as the salesman's statement, would have no way to prove it true or false. Sorry.

A:  No....This sink stains under normal use. Additionally, the enamel peeled off of mine within the first month! Kohler refused to warranty the sink saying we must have done something to chip it!! Spider cracks have since developed in the radius of the sink, just like the area the enamel peeled. My plan is to remove the sink send it to a company that does powder coating and have it coated properly. BTW-the last rep from Kohler that i talked to could not have been snottier!! Never again.

A:  I am not sure about rinsing out hair color. Because I have never tried this. I am still working on the remodel on this house so haven't used my sink in an everyday lives living situation. I hope you get a good answer one way or the other

A:  I have no idea about hair color and staining. I do know that the sink looks brand new after2 years. However, I am usually the only one using the sink and I am very careful to rinse quickly after use. I love this sink. Good luck.

A:  This sink takes a standard size strainer/disposal. The outside diameter is 4 1/2".

A:  Hi Anna, You should use a 41/2” kitchen sink strainer and disposal flange.

Please call our Customer Care Center at 1-800-456-4537 (M-F, 8am-5pm CST) and choose the Literature option to order a complimentary template for this sink; this is the only method of ensuring compatibility. A:  The side flanges are 1" wide and the overall sink width is 33". This leaves an opening in the counter top of 31" for under mount.

A:  This sink has certainly served its purpose well. What a great buy with years of value to come. However, be sure to secure it correctly by using the diagram that comes with it, so trace the outlines for tight mounting.

A:  Hello, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm glad to answer your question. You can install a sink and not use all of the holes. We would suggest filling an unused hole with either an assessory (soap dispenser, sprayer, etc.) or using a hole cover such as the Kohler K-8830. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

A:  No it did not matter for us. The vendor we used to make and install our new counter top used the template that came with the sink to match the sink opening and the two holes we wanted to use for our faucet and soap dispenser.

A:  If you are covering the holes with tile or marble then it won't matter. Otherwise, the holes would be visible.
