          Answer This Question

A:  Hello, my name is Heather with Kohler Customer Service. I am happy to assist you with your toilet seat question. Model 4627 is not a valid Kohler part number. If you have an elongated toilet, I do not see any reason why K-4688 would not fit your toilet. If you need additional assistance on this topic, please contact our Customer Care Center at 1-800-4KOHLER (1-800-456-4537). Thank you for your inquiry and choosing the Bold Look of KOHLER.

Q:how do I attach toilet seat hardware, won't screw tight

              Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry, If you have an one piece toilet, it may be that the bolts aren’t feeding through into the bowl into the anchors. The 84999 (anchor kit) can be ordered to resolve that issue. It could also be that the bolts are stripped and then the hardware pack # 1133024 can be ordered.

A:  Hardware are plastic items and usually fit snug with wing nuts or screwdriver not to over tighten. Possible alignment will compensate for this. Make sure you have the right seat for your toilet. It is not unusual for you to take your old seat to your friendly store for comparison before your purchase. The store attendant can help with more detailed questions.

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Most toilet seats will fit most toilet bowls. The fit is based on the spread of the bolts on the back of the seat. Normal or standard spread is 5 1/2". The majority of KOHLER toilet seats are 5 1/2".

A:  All toilets are universally fitted to any bowl as both are designed to a standard bolt pattern for anchoring the seat. However, toilet bowls and seats are currently available in two (2) styles, 'standard' and 'elongated.' In order that the new seat fit your bowl, you must replace it with one of similar style, 'standard' and 'elongated.' If in doubt regarding the style of your toilet and seat, remove the seat and bring it with you to the retailer when buying a new seat.
