A:  I don’t think you can make that modification here. I’d suggest locating a wooden seat if you don’t need the self close feature or the easy cleaning feature.

A:  Sure, why not? The only consideration is whether you have need of an elongated or round seat. You can make them out of bamboo or Jello as long as they fit the shape. The only problem I had with the oak one I had on mine was the finish eventually breaking down at the edges. After that they got kind of groady looking and needed to be stripped and refinished. It was just easier to buy a new one and the missus likes the anti slam feature. LOL
