A: The Kohler K-15136 diverter instructions says a 1-1/2" to 2-7/8" copper stub will work. I cut my copper stub to 2-1/4" and it slipped on with no problem.

A: Hi, this is Laura with Kohler Co. I am happy to assist you with your question. A slip-fit connection slides onto the copper pipe and held in place with a setscrew while a screw-on (NPT) spout would be screwed onto the copper pipe. The model number for the slip-fit spout in brushed nickel is K-389-S-BN. If you are ordering a showerhead-handle trim-bath spout combination, the model number is K-TS395-4SE-BN (2.0 gpm) or K-TS395-4S-BN (2.5 gpm). Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

A: Slip-Fit Spout:
This spout has an internal assembly that slips over a copper pipe. This spout has an opening on the bottom side where a setscrew is tightened to hold the spout onto the copper pipe.

A: I used the Kohler K-15136 diverter. The instructions says the diverter will support a copper pipe coming out of the wall between 1-1/2" to 2-7/8". I cut my pipe to 2-1/4" and had no issue slipping the diverter on.

Q:Does this use a set screw to hold it on the pipe that comes out from the wall? If so how long does that pipe have to be? The house was built in 1994. Thanks
