    Q:My current vanity is 23 1/2 wide. From the picture it looks like the sides on the bottom are indented. Will this top be able to sit in my current vanity? Also because for plumbing the vanity is exactly 36" from floor to top of vanity. If I add this top what will that measure? I'm worried it'll be too tall.

    A:  Hi Laurie, my name is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I'm glad to answer your question. This sink is meant to be installed on a 23-3/4" vanity. The top will add an additional 2-7/16" in height on the front and 3-1/16" in height on the back. Thank you for choosing The Bold Look of KOHLER.

If paired with vanity K-2604, the combined height of the vanity and vanity top is 34-15/16" at the front of the unit and 35-9/16" at the rear of the unit.         A:  The edge of this vanity top is 2.4375 inches. It is recommended to use with standard 24 inch by 18 inch vanities.

          A:  It's more like 35/36--that's why we decided on a composite/cultured sink---sleeker/slimmer lines--especially in our small new upstairs' bathroom.

                Q:The webpage for this vanity doesn't list the option of 4" spread holes for faucets, but the spec sheet indiciates that K-2979-4 is a 4" spread. Do you have this vanity top with a 4" spread?

                  Q:I have read that the bottom of the sink is perfectly flat and tends to pool water around the drain instead of everything gong down the drain. It was said that you need to direct water with your hand while the faucet is running to make sure the water does not sit in the bottom of the sink. Has anyone experienced this?

I do apologize, we have not received feedback concerning the pooling of water at the bottom of the sink. Kohler sinks are made with a small pitch (approximately 1 degree), to divert any pooling at the bottom of flat sinks.                     Q:My inside cabinet dimensions are 19.24" W by 14.5" D. Would the basin of this sink fit into that opening? The Outside dimensions are 22.75 " W By 18" D. From the specs posted on the home depot web page the front would over hang by an 1" and the sides 1 1/8" on the sides.

                      A:  does not require one, caulk would do between wall and sink, but could add tile backsplash.

A backsplash is not required when installing model # 2979-4-0 on 24" vanity. However you will need to run a 1/8″ (3 mm) bead of siliconized acrylic caulk along the top edge of the sink where it contacts the finished wall.
