A:  I bought mine from the Home Depot web site but it was just the filter and foam cover no housing parts come with this item.

A:  The part number is printed on the filter but best to use part number from the owners manual

A:  Do not know the numbers but I Think the dimensions are for product. I have had both Briggs and Kohler 26 HP engines.. the newer 2yr old Kohler takes the oval. the Briggs had semi rectangle with edges "rounded". DIFFERENT SHAPE air filter.

A:  Went to the store; answered my own question. The part number on the package is KH-32-883-09-S1, not KH-32-883-09-S. The listed dimensions are for the package; the part itself is 6.75"x4.5"x2". It fit the Kohler 7000 series engine on my Troy Bilt Mustang Pivot 46".

A:  Mismarked or packaged wrong? the one I bought is the same size as the the original 7000 series Kohler 26 HP. These filters (that I have seen) come in clear plastic blister packs. Maybe double check and buy the right filter?? I cannot believe you would buy a filter 3" x 1 1/2 when original is clearly twice that size.... This filter is oval and a bit larger then an adult male hand

A:  The Kohler 7000 series engines come with two different size filters. Apparently, the same engine may come with different filters depending on the shroud that covers it. This probably allows it to fit in different equipment. I just had the opposite problem. I bought one that was too tall.
