Q:Why does it say not to add any other blankets? I added just a small one around the inside walls for extra warmth.

Answer This Question

A:  No need for extra blankets. It will cover up the pad and won't let the heat through.

A:  You void the safety of the product, unless you know for sure how it will react to the heating element. It may compromise their product. Hope this helps. It is durable fleece and you shouldn't need any other covering is what they are implying.

A:  Please remove the blanket from the Outdoor Heated Kitty House. This is a hazard as it can cause issues with the heated pad inside the house. The heated pad is designed to be used ONLY with the cover that is included. No other bedding or covers should be used inside the house. The blanket that you added to the house will actually reduce the amount of heat that gets through to your kitty, making them colder than without the blanket. The blanket traps the heat inside the pad.

Q:Is the electrical element thermostatically controlled?

      Answer This Question

A:  No.... Kitty lays on it and it heats up like a heating pad but at very low heat. The cats own body heat plus low heating pad makes all the difference.

A:  The Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Pad inside the Outdoor Heated Kitty House is thermostatically controlled to automatically turn on and off as needed to keep your pet warm.

A:  My outdoor cat weighs about 10 pounds and it could accommodate another 10lb cat. They will be snug but nice and warm.

                  by|May 5, 2023

A:  Depends on the size of the cat or kitten. Ideal would be one adult cat, but could fit several kittens. We have 16 lb male & a 12 lb female, they grew up together as kittens so no problems they don't mind snuggling.

A:  Yes... They ate located at each end of house. I put our cat house inside a shed. Plugged it in and removed one of the flaps. I left the other flap on to block any draft.

A:  NOTHING is warm under those conditions but I say..its better than nothing. The heat is very low voltage but heats up to the cat or dog's body temp when they lay on it. Was 33 degrees here a few nights ago and my feral cats were fine.

A:  This house inside another structure would be better, re: back and front doors are flaps for EZ in-out in case of need. Wind blowing will move the flaps. Added insulation shield to outside or inside roof/sides would be essential in your climate if you ask me.

A:  With wind chills that are that cold we do recommend placing the Outdoor Heated Kitty House in a sheltered area to protect your kitties. the Outdoor Heated Kitty House has been tested in -20°F temperatures and works great!

A:  This house needs to be in a shed or barn that can absorb those kind of winds. And ONLY if your using the heated pad.

A:  It is waterproof material, but I would not recommend it for open or uncovered space. I think with anything electrical and animal use, it would be best to keep it as dry or away from water. While our porch is not fully enclosed, we placed it away from the elements easiest weak spots.(entry way & side opening)

A:  No.... The temperature is not adjustable. The temp of the heating pad is comfortable to the touch. No worries of being to hot. The cats own body temperature does the rest. It works perfect hand in hand.

A:  The Outdoor Heated Kitty House contains an electrically heated pad for the cat to lay on. The heated pad is not designed to heat the house. The cat will lie on the pad to receive the warmth that the heated pad provides.
