Q:This device is a bit of a joke. It says to use 75 watt Par 30 bulbs. The average PAR 30 bulb is 7' - 8" long while the fixture itself is only 5.5" deep. I don't want to use a PAR30S halogen (Philips Product) sold by Home Depot because it lasts only 1-year and is hotter than LED. Home Depot only sells 1 type of LED that is PAR 30 S (s= short) and it is only 50 watts. What LED would you recommend that is proper size for this light as it appears in the photo ie less than 5.5" light dept. Standard PAR 30 looks ridiculously large and out of place in this fixture.

A:  I can now confirm that the aforementioned G7 Power "Ely" bulb fits nicely, with about 1/4" to spare. Given that this bulb is just under 3.5" long, I would say that any bulb 3.5" long or less will be cosmetically compatible with this fixture.

A:  Based on my measurements, I'd say you'd want a bulb no longer than 3.5". Fortunately, LED PAR30 bulbs are available as short as 3.3". Unfortunately, HD's offering of these is a bit short (ha ha!), but a popular online supplier offers a number of them--including the G7 Power "Ely", producing 840 lumens of 3000K light at 3.4" inches long.

Q:Can LED bulbs be used in this light? If so, what is recommended?

            Answer This Question

A:  I don't see why not; there are plenty of LED bulbs available in the PAR30 form factor.

            by|May 3, 2023

A:  This head should accommodate any PAR30-sized bulb, including an LED.

A:  The issue I've found with this light is that if you buy a regular PAR 30 bulb (not a Par 30 S - (s=short)) they look goofy in the fixture, nothing like the picture display. I'd recommend finding a Par 30 S (short neck) bulb. the problem is that's not a common fixture and Home Depot only sells them in 50 watt, when fixture is designed for 75 watt.

              Answer This Question

A:  This fixture is designed to use 75W PAR30 lamps. It accommodates 75W lamps that fit a medium socket but note the size of the housing opening for an aesthetically pleasing look. Attached is the spec sheet for the product for reference. Thank you! http://www.junolightinggroup.com/attachments/images/content/SpecSheets/D2_1_5.pdf
