A:  Place your back against the jamb (face) of the door frame where the hinges are or will be located facing the opposite jamb, like you were a closed door with hinges attached to your back.. If the door will swing open to the right, it is a right hand door, and vice versa.

A:  30" X 80" is the actual finished size of the door slab only, 'slab' referring to the actual door. If the door comes prehung as this door says it does in the description, it will come in a door frame (casing) with the hinges and door holes already mortised (drilled and/or routed) into the door. The door will be hung inside a pre-made frame on hinges and if the description says molded, it will also come with trim molding already attached to the door casing (which may or may not match your existing home trim). A good rule of thumb for rough door openings, or the measurements in the house framing where the door casing will be installed, is to ensure the opening is 2 inches wider and 2-1/2 inches taller than the door slab. So, for a 30 x 80 or in trade lingo a 2/6 X 6/8 door slab (2 feet six inches wide by 6 feet 8 inches high) the rough opening in the house framing should be 32 inches by 81-1/2 inches.
