          Q:I need a 18x80 double panel door that opens out. Using it for a linen closet in hallway. I see that in responses you say to flip door for door opening outward instead of into room. Does this effect the side I want door handle on?

          A:  Our interior doors are all built as inswing units. Since there is no sill they can be installed as outswing units by reversing the door. Depending on which side you would like the bore, installing may switch the sides the bore can be seen on from outside of the room. Thank you for your inquiry today.

            Q:On a Mar 2, 2018 inquiry on using the inswing interior door for outswing, your answer is to reverse the Unit during installation. I have a 28"X80" LH outswing door that I want to be replaced. What Jeld Wen prehung interior door should I use and what's the procedure for the reverse installation? Thanks!

            A:  Our prehung interior doors do not have a swing designation since there is no threshold. To install as an outswing unit, the unit would just be turned around at time of installation. Thank you for your inquiry today.

                A:  First, the SIMPLE WAY to determine door handing... IF YOU ARE REPLACING AN EXISTING DOOR: With the door open, stand with your back against the hinge jamb. If your left hand is nearer the doorknob, then the door is LEFT-HANDED. If your right hand is nearer the doorknob, then the door is RIGHT-HANDED.

                  A:  All JELD-WEN interior doors are built as inswing units. If you want an outswing interior door you would have to reverse the unit during installation. Thank you for your inquiry.
