              Q:I looked up Composite MDF on the internet and all sites said that composite MDF contains formaldehyde which acts as a binding agent in the composite MDF. It also said that when cut this releases formaldehyde dust, which is identified as a carcinogen by the UK specifically and by the Euorpean Union. Does this apply to Jeld-Wen doors?

              A:  All of our interior doors are NAUF (No Added Urea Formaldehyde) which meet compliance. However JELD-WEN does offer NAF (No Formaldehyde Added) interior doors.                     A:  Yes, JELD-WEN recommends prefinishing our interior doors. We use Home Depot's BEHR satin water base paint when we prefinish our doors. Thank you for your inquiry.
