Q:I can instead use trade on a newly waxed floor
by|Jun 24, 2017

Answer This Question

A:  This product is not for use on painted or waxed floors.

by|May 5, 2023

A:  InvisaTread will not work on a waxed, sealed or painted surface. InvisaTread is not a coating, it is a micro-etching solution for mineral based surfaces and needs to reach the actual mineral surface to react.

Q:Can this product be applied over recently sealed Saltillo?
    by|May 21, 2016
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  No. InvisaTread cannot be applied to a sealed surface. InvisaTread is a micro-etching solution that needs to contact the natural mineral surface. To use InvisaTread on a sealed surface you must first step the sealer, then etch with InvisaTread, then reseal with a water-based impregnating sealer (we recommend StonewalledTM Sealer).

      Answer This Question

A:  1 gallon will cover approximately 400-500 sqft. You will get closer to the 500 sqft if applying with a garden type pump up sprayer (the recommended method). Yes we do make 5 gallon pails (coverage approx 2000-2500 sqft)

A:  Available in Quart, Gallon and Five Gallon Pails. Depending upon the type of floor and how the results work for that particular application you should expect about 400 Sq Ft per gallon or about 2000 Sq Ft per five gallon pail depending upon application and usage and if more than one coat is required for optimal results? BUT, with this product, preparation is critical, the floor must be of the type that this product is designed for as well as properly prepared as in completely cleaned preferably using TractionWash prior to applying InvisaTread. Additionally, more than one application of InvisaTread may be required which would affect the 400 Sq Ft per gallon standard and also different 'dwell' times for the product to work. Product must remain wet during application. This product should be used full strength and not diluted.

Q:Will this give the tile a rough texture, making it hard to scratch by vandals?
        by|Jan 23, 2016

        Answer This Question

A:  No, InvisaTread will not give a rough texture to the surface. InvisaTread is not a coating, it is a micro-etching treatment that will not change the look or feel of the surface. Once it it rinsed off, after the tested dwell time, there is nothing left but the original surface. InvisaTread will not affect the vulnerability of a surface to scratching or vandalism. If the surface could be scratched before the InvisaTread treatment it will be after, as well.

A:  When I used it it didn't change the texture, appearance or feel of the tile at all.

Q:What temperature and drying time for outdoor installation?
          by|Nov 3, 2015
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  InvisaTread is a water based product and will freeze/evaporate depending on the environmental temps. We recommend surface and ambient temps of 40 degrees F and rising... up to 90 degrees. Do not allow to freeze, run-off or evaporate. The surface should remain saturated with the InvisaTread for the entire dwell time. PLEASE NOTE: InvisaTread is NOT a coating, it is a micro-etching solution, that is effectively permanent. Nothing to ware off or re-apply. There is no "drying" or "curing" time. There is, however, a DWELL time which determines how much increased traction is felt. The installation process is Clean>Apply>DWELL>Rinse. Dwell time is roughly 6- 16 minutes, depending on the density of the surface or glaze, test a small area or extra tile to determine you unique dwell time. Start with 6 minutes and work up to the desired traction. After the Rinse step the InvisaTread is removed leaving only the original surface. Thanks for you question and your interest in Surface Solution anti-slip products. Good Luck!

Q:Can this product be used on bare concrete?
            by|Oct 26, 2015
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  Absolutely! The process on concrete is easy. Just let the InvisaTread dwell on the pre-cleaned surface until a milky white substance appears, about 5-7 minutes. And rinse away, preferably before it dries. DONE! [NOTE: this is as long as the concrete is not yet sealed. If it's already been sealed, the sealer needs to be stripped first or the InvisaTread treatment can't reach the surface it need to react with. You can always seal after the InvisaTread treatment but it must be a water-based impregnating/penetrating sealer, not film forming. We recommend the Stonewalled Sealer.
