A:  There are two version of this table. One is 42" in diameter, and the other is 36". From the picture, it looks like this is the 36" one, but we can't be sure. A:  When you say child, do you mean shorter then 30 inches high?...If so, you won't have any problems...This table is actually pretty sturdy. Now please be careful, because any table could be tipped over. I'm about 130lbs and I've leaned on it while bending down to pick something up - no tipping. A:  It's surprisingly stable. I don't think it would tip unless he was sitting on it!

A:  I put mine in a breakfast nook so I don’t use chairs with it often, but four of us can set our plates and glasses pretty comfortably. You wouldn’t have room for much else in the center though.
