            Q:I want to run a gate operator with this timer, and open the gate at 6am and close the gate at 5pm, but on the weekend i want the gate to remain closed. would this be a good timer to use?

            A:  This timer has 24 settings. So you can program for (power) to the gate controller for different times each day of the week. Several different times during the day, or different times on weekends. However this would only control the power source for the gate. It will not automatically open or close the gate. that would be something that would need to be programmed into the gate controller. I would not recommend this timer for the purpose you are intending. For if you were to want to leave during that time that "its closed" you would have to manually engage the timer, then use whatever control device to open the gate itself.
