A:  Hold the rocker switch until you reach your desired level. It is a rocker, but you can hold the up or the down for the dimming effect.

A:  Well, there is no direct connection between the switch and the dimmer. You would need to pair the two together. I personally use the Mini Remote to brighten and control a smart light bulb over our dining table.

            by|Nov 1, 2018

A:  After linking the devices together you press and hold the On (top) part of the paddle to brighten and/or press and hold the Off (bottom) part of the paddle to dim. When you let go it will stop. Tapping the paddle, in either on or off, will cause the light to change instantly.

                Answer This Question

A:  I don't believe it does natively but if you had an insteon/zwave bridge, such as the ISY994z, you could create a scene to send Zwave commands to control your Zwave device(s). Hope that helps.

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  No, it is not Z-wave.

                  by|May 5, 2023

A:  I don’t know for sure, but my guess is it would not work on other products since it’s an Insteon product.

A:  Zwave and Insteon do not natively work together. There is a controller called an ISY-994 ZW that will allow you to use both protocol together.

A:  You can use it as a dimmer by holding the top or bottom in to get the desired light level.

A:  Yes. When you press and hold the button it will brighten/Dim. When you tap it the lights will turn On/Off.

A:  You can use it with a dimmer. We used it with an LED compatible in-line dimmer and dimmable LEDs.

A:  Yes and no. Yes it needs batteries because it is not connected to the power line (and therefore only uses the wireless protocol). No, it doesn't need AA or similar things because it is charged via USB (and needs to be connected with a USB cable during charging).

A:  It has a built in rechargeable battery that recharges when you use a mini USB cable/charger.

A:  No. But it does need to be charge, from time to time.

A:  I don't have the 2466SW but I believe this remote controls any Insteon switch. No hub needed, unless you want to get your home network into the act (in which case you won't need this remote).

A:  I’m not sure what the range is, all of the ones I’m using are within a 50 foot range of the hub and they work fine. I can’t answer if it works with the 2466SW. I don’t imagine it would since they both are switches.
