Q:I'd like to install this exact door in a basement bedroom. I've got a 3/8th inch subfloor over concrete slab. How do you propose I affix the threshold onto that? Should I cut out a section of the subfloor to the approximate width of the threshold, place the threshold onto the concrete and then attach the threshold to the concrete with concrete screws? Or, should I retain the subfloor as is and then drill through it and into the concrete to affix the threshold over the subfloor? Either way I hope I can duplicate the head of the concrete screws exactly as the head of the threshold screws that come with the product. Please advise.

A:  Dear Moozed, Most applications you can just use a high quality construction adhesive and glue the track down to your flooring material. The only application where this might get dicey is if its over a "floating" type floor which sometimes is designed to expand.contract, etc. I would not cut the floor but just install the track right on top. If you want to talk about it in more detail please reach out to us at sales@paniflex.com and give me your phone number and we can chat about your specific situation and get the details right. Thank you, Carlos

Q:I am looking for 120 in (W) x 96 in (H) one. May I check if the button track is one piece with 120 in long? Thanks,

A:  Handy, All units over 72" wide are shipped with a 2-piece track. The longer lengths usually get damaged in transit since they are a long and awkward box. If you would like a one-piece track you can reach out to us at 631-414-7725 but it is very expensive due to shipping costs. Thank you.

Q:Will the edges of this door rust? This door will enclose a saltwater aquarium. Other sliding mirror doors rust.

        Answer This Question

A:  Alex, The edges are aluminum and not steel so they will not rust. A high humidity condition may create other issues like pitting/spots or moisture absorption into the wood fiber core so also not ideal conditions. They wont rust though. Thank you

Q:Can a lock be fitted somehow, to prevent their opening?

          Answer This Question

A:  Greg, there are some off-the-shelf options like a slide bolt or door catch but nothing we supply nor can we really recommend. Installation of any of these will be tricky since you don't want to risk breaking the mirror when you install. With some ingenuity you could make something work but we have nothing out of the box to offer as a solution. Thank you.

A:  No, the lock can not be fitted.

              Answer This Question

A:  They're actually 37" ea. You'll get a 1" overlap in the center which is about the thickness of the metal frame. The overlap would be perfect if your available opening if a total of 72"... Hope that help's.

Q:I have had these doors in the past. They needed to be replaced due to flood damage. My previous doors had small glass handles that were adhered to the two outer doors. The replacements do not have these handles. Are they supposed to have? Thank You. Robert Macdiarmid.

                Answer This Question

A:  I don't think so; ours did not. The outer side rims of the doors extends about 1/4" from the face of the mirrored door -- creating a door pull from top to bottom. We've had ours for over a year and they work and look great.

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  Bob, It looks like you are looking at our framed version which has a frame around the mirror and the handle is part of that frame. If you look at our other original product that is frameless those still come with the applique handles you are talking about. Try looking at Model # BMS7080C Internet #206756028 (type one of those onto the search box on THD.com) and these are the doors you are probably used to and will have the handle you are speaking about. Thank you.

A:  It uses rollers on the bottom, not the top.

A:  john, These panels roll on ball-bearing rollers that ride on the bottom track. The tops are basically guides on the doors that also run in a track. Thanks

Q:Is this product available in brushed metal finish instead of chrome? Or is the chrome very shiny? I have all brushed stainless in my house. Thank you.

                            Answer This Question

A:  Lynne, The "chrome" finish is actually closer to satin stainless steel and less like a very glossy '57 Chevy bumper chrome. Although it is very hard to get exact matches across different types of hardware in the home from different manufacturers, I think unless you are a very meticulous person, what we call chrome will "be close enough" to complement your other hardware. We can send out small sample if it will help please email sales@paniflex.com and we can get your info to send out a piece. Thanks.
