A:  It’s a great hammer and the price is right , I am contractor and abuse these everyday , I only replace them because when I lose one

A:  Solid shank steel through the entire core. Synthetic handle. I have not put a major beating on the head, but looks like good hardened metal which will not chip/dent. I am a 22 year expert contractor.
