Q:Can this cut through steel?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, but not really. I was able to cut through a couple of 1/8 in steel bolts before the blade became too dull to cut any more and it took forever to cut through those.

Q:Can this cut through thick acrylic plastic?

Answer This Question
A: I hate to say, “How thick?”, because I may not see your reply so let me say this: this little saw uses a blade that is about 1/4” wide. It is great for some projects that are light duty. However, I think if I were wanting to cut through something thick I would prefer a full size blade. The stability of a wider blade will help keep a straight line.

Q:I lost the front tension stud. Is there a replacement part or do I just buy a new saw? I hate to junk it because there would be nothing wrong with it if I hadn't lost that stud...

Answer This Question
A: Time for a new saw I’m afraid. The cost of stocking and shipping such a part would be more than the cost of the saw.

Q:Hi, can this cut a 1/8" thick aluminum bar (1 inch wide)?

Answer This Question
A: Yes. This saw would have no issues cutting through an aluminum bar of that diameter. I have used mine for far thicker more reinforced metals and it performed fairly well.

A: It could. But if you can use a full size saw with a wider blade the stability of the larger blade will help keep a straight line when cutting.
