Q:Can you tell me why the brushed nickel version is $189 and the other two options are $139? I picked the brushed nickel option for the new house we're building (7 of them). However, when the builder went in to order, the price had gone up to $189. I first looked at them on 2/12/18 and actually printed out the page showing the price as $139 which I still have. Now I can't order them because they aren't in the allotted price allowance that I was given. Is, perhaps, the new price a typo??

A: Hello Carole, You will need to contact your The Home Depot retailer regarding the pricing difference. Thank you!

A: I can not answer your question. You need to check with Home Depot customer service at the 800 number.
But let me point you to what maybe a better option. I have purchased and installed three Fairhavens in the past. Good fan. As for the price difference do not understand WHY.
Look at Carrolton II 52 in. Integrated LED Indoor Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan with Light Kit.
Does not have all the detail but the lighting is (my opinion) is far better. than the Fairhaven. No remote - hopefully your contractor installed separate switches for the light circuit.
Have purchased and installed two of these and this is a really good fan.
One other note - that many remotes will have to all be programed differently unless you want more than one remote to operate several fans.
It's an option.

A: Thea - have you called Hampton Bay fan team?
Here is the number 855-434-2678.
You will have to go through the prompts. You will need the SKU#
No guarantees, but worth a shot..
If that does not work try King of Fans (800-330-3267).
You still need the SKU# .
By the way the SKU is on the top of the motor.
Good luck
Jeff

Q:How do I change batteries in fan
by|Dec 17, 2017

Answer This Question
A: There are no batteries in the fan. The remote receiving unit in the fan runs off the fan power. The only battery used is in the remote. It is a CR2032 disk battery. The fan installation instructions, including remote battery replacement, are here: https://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/9c/9c576a7f-f720-4d98-a8f5-c3d0833c81a5.pdf

by|May 5, 2023
A: The only batteries to change are in the remote, the fan is direct wired to the electrical system.

A: Hello Awolk, The Fairhaven model is manufactured with a remote/receiver control unit. Have a great day!
by|May 4, 2023
A: I believe so but I do not know how or if it needs to be programmed. I saw on the Hunter website there is a list of parts you can purchase separately.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Yes you can but it is almost as expensive as the fan. It is $92 on the hunter site https://www.hunterfan.com/Accessories/Controls/Fan-Light-Universal-Handheld-Remote-Control-(Deser . There are plenty of remotes in the $30 range (including a Hunter) at Home Depot. The remote that comes with the fan is nothing special. These remotes all include the receiving unit. If you are just looking for the hand held portion I'm not sure that's available.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Yes however this fan already come with a remote.
