A:  Hi Michell, No, the Sontera model is manufactured with a 3 speed motor, so only the High, Medium and Low speeds are available. Thank you for contacting Hunter Fan Company!

A:  No, you can not pair a different remote with this fan to add more fan speeds.

A:  Works on what ever you have the fan on. We tried both. If on reverse, it works. If on other, works. I'm really please with this fan and the remote.

A:  I have no idea what IR and RF mean. My remote is mounted to the wall, just flip on the light switch and the lights/fan comes on. But I won't buy another Hunter ceiling fan. The lights are dimmer than candle lights. I had to replace the bulbs and still don't have bright lights. The fan isn't designed for regular-size light bulbs.

A:  Yes, but my first fan motor went out after a very short amount of time. It’s replacement, recently won’t turn on the lights or the fan. I changed the battery in the remote, pulled the chains, nothing. Now I need to replace, remove and install again. I will be using a different brand. As I remember the choices were limited for what I wanted. No I will never buy another Hunter fan. Response appreciated.

A:  Hello AG, No, this fan comes with candelabra, sometimes called (E12) sockets. You can use LED or CFL bulbs but that must be in that socket size. Thank you!

A:  Regular light bulbs don't fit. And they don't make them brighter.
