A:  I don't know if this particular fan comes in a smaller size than a 42 inch. I do know that this Hunter fan is great product and was easy to install. I would check the Home Depot website to see if there is a fan smaller than this to purchase.

A:  I'm not an electrician, or a carpenter, but if there was 110v power to the light fixture, it should also power the fan. Your issue may be different though.  A ceiling fan motor is significantly heavier than most light fixtures (unless you are replacing a heavy chandelier with a ceiling fan).  I would make certain that there is a ceiling brace above the light fixture sturdy enough to hold the weight of the ceiling fan. If you are not entirely sure, I suggest calling in a professional.

A:  It needs a ceiling fan support box. So the answer is not really. Assuming your “existing light fixture” is a standard light and will be removed, you would need to replace the electrical box that was serving that fixture, with a ceiling fan rated electrical box.
