A:  Hello phil and thank you for your question. The Hunter Dreamland 44 in. Ceiling Fan hangs 18.21” from the ceiling when installed. A low profile mount is available which will reduce this 3 inches; the low profile mounted ceiling fan will hang 15.21” from the ceiling. Best wishes on your project.

A:  You will need room to hang this fan because of the individual lamp shades. We did hang it fairly close to the ceiling, but did use the shorter pole with it.
