Q:does this thermostat have an ?OFF? option? i recently purchased a home with this system. Master bedroom, downstairs area and basement all have their own thermostat. I can only bring it down to 40 degrees, so it?s still burning a lot of oil in the summer.

Answer This Question
A: Hello DIYer! I do apologize, but it would be difficult to determine if this Honeywell 7-Day Programmable Thermostat will be compatible with your HVAC system. However, I can tell you, this thermostat is compatible with most 2-way zone valves, 3-way zone valves or circulator pumps in both line volt and low volt applications. If you still need assistance in determining the compatibility of your system with this thermostat, please feel free to contact Honeywell Technical Support at (800) 468-1502.

Q:hello i have a old style honeywell round 2 wire thermostat, can i replace it with this thermostat
by|Nov 8, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Yes. You can replace your old round 2 wire thermostat with this one. The great thing about this thermostat is that it can be hooked up to low voltage (24 volt) systems, line voltage (120 volt) systems and 240 volt systems. I replaced the two old style thermostats in my house with two of these Honeywell units. One of my old thermostats was set up to run on 24 volts and the other one was still using the line voltage (120 volts). I wanted to install the same thermostat in both locations so that my family would not have any issues with setting them and using them. I installed my Honeywell thermostats over 5 years ago and they are nice way to get the programmability of modern thermostats, and have digital and more importantly, accurate control over your heat! As a reference, my home uses an oil fired boiler with hot water base board heat.
