Q:If the overall chair depth is really 24", then how can the seat depth be only 17"? What is the actual seat depth at its deepest point?

A: Hello Marcia, we apologize for the confusion. The 17 inches in depth refers to the measurement from the edge of the front of the seat to the front of the back (where you would sit) and the 24 inches in depth refers to the edge of the seat to the far back of the chair.
