Q:The description says “hard wood”, what specific type of wood is it? Does it scratch easily?

Answer This Question
A: It's a nice and well-made dining set and it is easy to assemble. The wood looks exactly as it does in the picture, but I am not sure about the type of wood. It has a small scratch in it, but I have had it for almost two years and used it a lot. It wears well. The chairs are also comfortable. We have been very happy with it.

Answer This Question
A: I would say no just because leg room would be very tight, there would be banging of knees unless everyone sat back from the table

Q:Can the table top be coated in polyurethane?
by|Apr 21, 2019

Answer This Question
A: Anything can be covered in polyurethane if you try hard enough,
but best off to buy a piece of tempered glass (It's not as expensive
as you might think if you pick it up from a local glass shop, they
will even sand and polish the edges), or a table cloth.
Polyurethane will not save this table from scratches and marks.

A: Hi Kathryn,
If you are referring to removing the finish and reapplying a poly stain, we would not recommend as the sanding process could damage the veneers.
