A:  I believe it is wood. It is finished and painted distressed white like the front. You can see what it looks like on the home depot webpage. You have to select the picture that allows you to spin the cabinet around. I got it for my daughter to use in her kitchen and it has been just great.

A:  The back panel is made from solid hardwoods.

A:  The back of the unit is made of the same material as the rest of the cabinet although it is just a little thinner. I would be concerned about it being free-standing as I often have young great grandchildren in my home playing in the kitchen where I have the cabinet. The cabinet comes with apparatus to fasten it to a wall which eliminates the danger of it tipping over. I love my cabinet and have had many complements about it from friends.

A:  white thin board, but would look fine if not against a wall.

A:  It looks nice. Though I am not sure. It is thinner wood then the rest of the cabinet. I don't think it would be easily punctured.

A:  Yes, the back of pantry is constructed with the same materials as the sides & front. Looks to be some kind of Formica covered wood. When assembled, this pantry is very heavy and durable. ours is almost completely filled with canned goods and many other foods. Product seems to be holding up well!!

A:  The back is a lighter material than the rest of the unit. There are wood supports that cross it and the screws that fasten them are visible. See enclosed picture.

A:  It looks slightly antiqued. Honestly, I have to look for the "distressed" look because it's most solid off white

A:  Hello, as you can see in the photos above, there are hints of distressing throughout this piece. They are subtle and not very prominent, but gives the piece a more traditional look. A:  This is a great pantry but ABSOLUTELY creamy white. I kept it, but was very disappointed in the description and pictures as I wanted white. Easy to assemble,good instructions and looks great but not bright white!!

A:  I don't know but it was not hard to put together

A:  No, I don't believe so. I had a neighbor come help me, it did not take that long maybe an hour or so. The key is to lay everything out on a sheet or blanket first and then start to assemble.

A:  I believe it can be assembled for an additional fee.

A:  I don't think so. You may be Abe to have home depot assemble it for a charge. It should indicate it online. I assembled my own. ..very easy -parts were well marked. Hope this helped.

A:  HD does have a click button on their website to use if you want it put together by someone in your area. it's not very complicated but I would add a spot of glue to the wood dowels used to connect the Pantry. Excellent value ! Fits a lot !

A:  I don't think it can be purchased already assembled. The assembly process was really not difficult.
