A: No, I would not cut them. The sides would wind up being unfinished.

Q:Can these shelves be installed on a brick wall into the mortar ? Is the mounting hardware only good for drywall ?

A: As long as you can put a screw in the wall, you should be able to hang it, I believe the mounting holes are the ones where the fat circle part is on the bottom and then narrows up to secure the screw.

A: Yes you can mount it on a brick wall mortar joint with a little creativity. The anchors provided will not be sufficient. The mounting apparatus on the shelf is a keyhole mount, so any screw head that fits will work. So, buy two masonry anchors that fit the screw that fits the keyhole, then drill two holes the correct distance apart (assuming the mortar joint is level) with the proper size masonry bit. Then, insert the anchors flush and fit the screws leaving about 1/4 inch of the head extended. You may need to do a bit of adjusting, but it should work fine. Any competent hardware associate can fix you right up with the correct size anchors and screws..

Answer This Question
A: 20 lbs if installed correctly.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The weight limit is probably around 10-15 pounds. This is defined by how strong your wall anchors you used.
by|May 5, 2023
A: I'd say 5 - 10 lbs. It depends on what kind of anchors you use or whether you attach to studs. I recommend using a higher grade anchor than what is provided.

A: They are cheaply made with particle board. They crack very easily.

A: Not wood. It's a brown composite material that looks like what peg board is made of.

Answer This Question
A: actually the grooves are on the bottom/underside of the ledge. I didn't need them so it didn't matter, if you want the grooves you would have to hang it upside down but the hangers on the back would be upside down

A: Don't know why they can't be side by side.
by|May 4, 2023
A: They can be, but you have to be very precise in your measurements. The attachments on the back are not all the same, so the screw and molly attachment on the wall have to be exact for each shelf.
by|May 4, 2023
A: You certainly could, however, if you are looking for it to be perfect, it may not be because the edges may not butt up perfectly. Othereise, no problem
