Q:What is the back? Is the back made of the same material as the rest of it? I need the back to be open because I have computer monitors. I?m going to mount on the wall and I just need a shelving type unit around it similar to this.

A: Yes the back is made of the same material as the rest. It is not thin. The shelves are only 7 inches deep not enough to hold my cook books.

A: Top open shelf is about 21 1/2 inches
Drawers are 5” tall
Bottom section is 22” with a permanent shelf inside at the 7” mark
